By road from the A1

 

Travelling South, leave the A1 at Junction 10. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit signposted to Baldock. At the 2nd roundabout with the Baldock Services, take the 2nd exit. Follow the road into Baldock and go straight across at the traffic lights signposted to Buntingford A507. Go straight across at the mini roundabout. Follow the road for several miles until you come to a T-Junction and turn right onto the A507. Take the first turning on the right on a sharp bend, signposted to Cromer and Walkern and follow the lane to a T-Junction. Turn right and proceed through the hamlet of Cromer, taking the first turning on the left signposted to Ardeley. Follow the lane through to Ardeley, passing the Church and duck pond on the right. You will see The Jolly Waggoner Pub on your left. Turn immediately right opposite the pub.

 

By road from the A1M

 

Travelling North, leave the A1M at Junction 7 for Stevenage. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit on to the A602 signposted Stevenage. Straight over at the next roundabout (signposted Ware). At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A602 (signposted to Town Centre) At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto St. George’s Way – A115 (signposted Walkern B1037). At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Fairlands Way – A155. Straight over the next 3 mini roundabouts. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the B1037. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit signposted to Walkern - B1037. Follow the road for approximately 1 mile and continue through Walkern. After approximately 1.5 miles, turn right (signposted Ardeley) and follow the lane through to Ardeley, passing the Church and duck pond on the right. You will see The Jolly Waggoner Pub on your left. Turn immediately right opposite the pub.

 

By road from the A10

 

map2Leave the A10 at Buntingford, Howe Green filling station roundabout and follow the signs for Baldock on the A507. After approximately 2 miles, enter the hamlet of Cottered, and after the sports field on your left, turn left onto B1037 signposted to Walkern. Follow the road until you come to a sharp right hand bend. Take the left hand fork signposted to Ardeley and follow the lane until you reach Ardeley. Please take care as the lane is single track in places. At the T-Junction, turn left towards The Jolly Waggoner Pub, the entrance to the farm is situated on the right.

 

By rail

 

Stevenage main line station is on the GNER and WAGN routes. Trains operate out of London Kings Cross with a journey time of 25-35 mins. Ardeley is approx. 20 min by taxi from the station. Alternatively, you can catch the 700 from the bus station near the train station, which takes you to Cottered, and then the walk to the farm is about 30-40 min.
